Job description

Newstaff Employment Services is looking for a meticulous and dedicated Legal Secretary (Private Client) to join our dynamic team within the Private Client practice area of the firm. (Any practice area will be considered) (Full time hours or Part Time hours are available) In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to the solicitors specialising in private client matters, which may include wills, probate, trust management, and estate planning. You will be responsible for drafting legal documents, managing client communications, and ensuring that all paperwork is processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of private client law, outstanding organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities • Draft and prepare legal documents including wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration papers. • Maintain accurate and organised filing systems for client matters. • Handle client correspondence and relay important information to solicitors and clients. • Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, court appearances, and client appointments. • Conduct research and compile relevant information as needed. • Ensure compliance with all legal protocols and confidentiality standards. • Provide general administrative support to the Private Client team. Requirements • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in a private client capacity, though all other practice areas are considered too. • Strong understanding of private client law including wills, probate, and trusts. • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities. • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software. • Strong typing and audio typing skills. • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to work. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Car owner preferred but not essential. Monday to Friday (Full or Part Time Hours are considered) Full time hours will be: 9 am to 5.30 pm. One hour for lunch. Office based.
