Legal Support Services Team LeaderLocation: Shrewsbury, Telford, Hereford or Oswestry
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 DOE
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established law firm for an experienced Legal Support Services Team Leader to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual to lead a central legal support function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality administrative and client support services across the business.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, manage and support the Legal Support Services team, including legal administrative assistants, client services and telephony staff.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the shared legal support function, ensuring an efficient and accurate service is provided.
• Monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and service standards, taking appropriate action where required.
• Ensure administrative workflows are completed accurately and within agreed timescales to support legal teams across the firm.
• Supervise front-of-house reception and client service functions, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for clients and visitors.
• Oversee the timely transcription of legal dictation using speech recognition technology.
• Review and monitor the opening and processing of new client and matter files, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
• Ensure post-completion and file management processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Oversee the input, maintenance and storage of electronic documentation within the firm's practice and document management systems.
• Manage the archiving of closed files in accordance with firm procedures.
• Ensure third-party practice management systems are utilised effectively and to a high standard.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and service delivery.
Key Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in a legal support, legal administration or operational management role within a professional services environment.
• Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a team.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong IT skills, including experience with practice management, document management and speech recognition systems.
• Ability to analyse workloads, monitor performance and implement process improvements.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
