Job description

Do you have experience in dealing with Accounts and Payments in the Lettings Industry? Have you used Alto before? Would you like to work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm? About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Lettings Accountant to join our team in Bexley. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of client accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and providing an excellent service to landlords and tenants. An excellent opportunity for an experienced property accountant or someone with a strong accounting background within the residential lettings sector. Lettings Accountant Key Responsibilities • Manage landlord and tenant accounts accurately and efficiently. • Process rental income and ensure timely payments to landlords. • Reconcile client bank accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. • Administer tenant deposits in line with government-approved tenancy deposit schemes. • Prepare financial statements and reports for landlords and management. • Process contractor and supplier invoices and payments. • Monitor arrears and liaise with the property management team regarding outstanding balances. • Ensure compliance with client money protection (CMP) regulations and relevant industry legislation. • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes. • Respond promptly and professionally to landlord and tenant account enquiries. • Maintain accurate financial records using property management and accounting software. Skills & Experience Essential • Previous experience as a Lettings Accountant or in a similar property accounting role. • Strong knowledge of client accounting and bank reconciliations. • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/property management software. • Strong organisational and time management skills. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable • Knowledge of ARLA Propertymark regulations and Client Money Protection requirements. • Experience using property software, ALTO What We Offer our Lettings Accountant • Permanent full-time position. • Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm • Basic Salary £30-32,000 dependant on experience • Supportive and professional working environment.
