Job description

Position: Logistics Operative Location: Woking, Surrey Salary: £16.00 per hour Our client is a leading organisation in the automotive industry, dedicated to producing high-performance sports cars with a commitment to excellence and innovation. The Role: As a Logistics Operative, you will be an essential part of the Logistics team, reporting to the Logistics Operations Team/Group Leader. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of materials, maintaining impeccable stock accuracy, and upholding health and safety standards. From loading and unloading trailers to investigating inventory discrepancies, your work will directly contribute to the production of world-class vehicles. This dynamic role demands a keen eye for detail, systematic working, and a dedication to continuous improvement. Main Responsibilities: * Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others, reporting all incidents and near misses. * Safely and efficiently load and unload trailers using Material Handling Equipment (MHE). * Accurately receive and inspect incoming goods, ensuring correct documentation. * Use handheld scanners and SAP for real-time inventory transactions. * Promptly and accurately put away stock, handling all parts with care. * Maintain company equipment and report any damages or malfunctions. * Escalate operational issues promptly. * Pick and supply parts to the production line according to KPIs. * Maintain accurate logistics documentation and records. * Apply and uphold 5S principles, maintaining clean work areas. * Perform internal consolidation of parts to optimise warehouse space. * Report missing or damaged parts immediately. * Follow standard operating processes for all logistics activities. * Conduct regular cycle counts and investigate discrepancies. * Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory inaccuracies. * Ensure efficient stock management and proactive stock level monitoring. * Liaise with Production, Quality, and Stores for timely material delivery. * Maintain full traceability of parts and related paperwork. * Participate in policy deployment, KPI tracking, and process improvement initiatives. * Support the picking and delivery of materials and collect empty stillages or Kanban boxes. * Respond to lineside shortages and queries quickly to support continuous production flow. * Uphold high standards of housekeeping across all logistics functions. About You: Applicants should possess strong organisational skills and experience in high-paced manufacturing environments, preferably in automotive production. Proficiency in using MRP, warehouse management systems, and SAP is essential. Candidates must be certified and experienced in operating MHE and skilled in conducting cycle counts and resolving stock discrepancies. A calm, professional demeanour under pressure, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality are crucial. Required: * Strong understanding of inventory, logistics, and material handling processes. * Experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment. * Proficiency in MRP, warehouse management systems, and SAP. * Certification and experience in operating MHE.
