Job description

We are partnering with a leading investment banking platform seeking an ambitious and highly analytical Associate to join its M&A team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced investment banking professional to work on high-profile transactions across a variety of industries, gaining exposure to complex strategic advisory assignments including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate finance transactions. The successful candidate will play a key role in transaction execution, financial analysis, client engagement, and deal origination support while working closely with senior bankers and corporate clients. Key ResponsibilitiesTransaction Execution • Support the end-to-end execution of M&A transactions. • Assist with transaction management, due diligence processes, and deal coordination. • Prepare marketing materials, client presentations, and transaction documentation. Financial Analysis & Valuation • Build and maintain detailed financial models. • Perform company valuations using a range of methodologies. • Analyse transaction scenarios and assess strategic and financial implications for clients. Industry & Market Research • Conduct in-depth industry, market, and company research. • Identify potential acquisition targets and strategic opportunities. • Monitor market trends and competitive landscapes. Client & Stakeholder Management • Engage directly with clients to understand strategic objectives. • Support negotiations and transaction discussions. • Coordinate effectively with lawyers, accountants, consultants, and other advisors throughout the deal lifecycle. Due Diligence & Documentation • Manage data rooms and information requests. • Coordinate internal and external due diligence workstreams. • Assist in preparing offering memorandums, information memorandums, presentations, and transaction-related correspondence. Strategic Presentations • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations highlighting transaction opportunities, valuation analyses, and strategic recommendations. Regulatory & Compliance • Ensure transactions are executed in accordance with applicable regulations and internal compliance standards. Candidate RequirementsEssential Experience • 2–4 years of experience within: • Investment Banking • Mergers & Acquisitions • Corporate Finance • Transaction Advisory • Related financial advisory environments Education • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline. • MBA, Master's degree, or relevant professional qualifications are advantageous. Technical Skills • Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. • Solid understanding of corporate finance and M&A transaction processes. Key Competencies • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong written and verbal communication abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • High attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders. • Professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
