Join a Leading Precision Engineering Manufacturer We are recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a growing and well-established precision engineering business based in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or machine operating experience who is looking to build a long-term career within a modern engineering environment. You'll be working with advanced production machinery, supporting the manufacture of high-quality precision components for demanding industries. The Role As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating production machinery, ensuring components are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and in line with quality standards. You will play a key role in meeting production targets, maintaining quality requirements, and supporting continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation. Key Responsibilities • Operate production machinery in accordance with work instructions and company procedures. • Load and unload materials and components safely. • Monitor machine performance and production output. • Carry out routine quality checks and inspections. • Use measuring equipment to verify component dimensions. • Identify and report machine, tooling, or quality issues. • Complete production records and documentation accurately. • Ensure materials, drawings, and route cards are correctly followed. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area. • Support continuous improvement and 5S activities. • Work closely with colleagues, team leaders, and quality personnel to achieve production targets. • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times. What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or machine operating environment. • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality. • Ability to follow technical instructions and production documentation. • Experience using basic inspection and measuring equipment. • Strong work ethic and reliability. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Desirable Experience • Experience operating CNC or automated production machinery. • Previous experience within precision engineering or aerospace manufacturing. • Familiarity with engineering drawings. • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers. • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
