Maintenance Engineer (Shift Cover) - Bristol AreaRate: £29.00 - £44.00 per hour Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to boost your income or fit flexible work around your current commitments? Gap Technical is seeking skilled Maintenance Engineers to provide ad-hoc shift cover across a range of manufacturing sites in theBristolarea. Whether you're looking for additional earnings, greater flexibility, or exposure to a variety of manufacturing environments, we have opportunities to suit you. Our ClientsWe work with leading manufacturers across a variety of sectors, including: • FMCG • Food & Beverage • Packaging • Chemical Manufacturing • Warehousing & Distribution • Pharmaceautical Key Responsibilities • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime. • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities. • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults using technical documentation and engineering expertise. • Fault-find on 3-phase electrical systems, drives, PLC I/O, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions. • Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to maximise equipment reliability and performance. • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. About YouWe're looking for engineers who have: • A completed time-served engineering apprenticeship (preferred). • Previous experience within manufacturing or production environments. • Strong fault-finding skills across: • 3-Phase Electrical Systems • Drives & Inverters • PLC I/O • Pneumatic Systems • Hydraulic Systems • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. • The ability to work independently and adapt quickly to different manufacturing sites. Experience within FMCG, Packaging, Food & Beverage or Chemical manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
