Maintenance EngineerLocation: Winsford
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:00pm
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x on Fridays
The RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation in Winsford. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer to join a skilled maintenance team, supporting the reliability and performance of modern production and packaging equipment.
The role will suit an engineer with an 80/20 mechanical bias who is confident working on automated machinery and enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance, and keeping production running efficiently.
You will join a small maintenance team of two engineers, where you will be expected to make an immediate impact and play a key role in maintaining and improving site equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and repair:
• Chains, belts, bearings, and mechanical drive systems
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Filling machines and production equipment
• Conveyors and packaging machinery
• Support continuous improvement activities and machinery reliability projects.
• Complete breakdown response and fault finding on automated manufacturing equipment.
• Work safely in line with company procedures and engineering standards.
The Ideal CandidateYou will be a time-served Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical background and experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential experience:
• NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong mechanical maintenance skills.
• Experience within FMCG, pharmaceutical, food, packaging, or similar manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with conveyors, fillers, packaging machinery, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
