Join Our Team as a Maintenance Operative! Location: Liverpool, L6 Pay Rate: £15.00 - £17.50 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break) Contract: Temporary with potential for permanent placement Are you a hands-on maintenance professional looking for your next opportunity? About the Role As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the site remains safe, functional, and inviting. Key Responsibilities • Carry out day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks across our building. • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and site management. • Complete basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, unblocking sinks, and replacing taps. • Undertake minor electrical maintenance such as changing light fittings and bulbs (where competent and authorised). • Perform general carpentry repairs, from adjusting doors to repairing furniture. • Conduct painting, decorating, and touch-up work to uphold accommodation standards. • Carry out routine inspections of communal areas and residential units. • Support room turnaround activities during student move-in and move-out periods. • Assist with health and safety checks to ensure compliance with company policies. • Identify and report larger maintenance issues needing specialist contractors. • Maintain accurate records of completed work and outstanding maintenance issues. • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organised, and safe. • Support site teams during peak periods, including occasional weekend shifts in August. Essential Requirements • Previous experience as a Maintenance Operative, Caretaker, Handyperson, Facilities Assistant, or in a similar role. • Good all-round maintenance skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs. • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach. • Understanding of health and safety practises in residential or commercial settings. • Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude. Desirable Skills • Experience within residential properties, hotels, or facilities management. • Relevant maintenance qualifications or trade background. • Knowledge of building maintenance systems and compliance requirements.
