Management Accountant

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation seeking an ambitious Management Accountant to join their finance team based in Birmingham. This role offers hybrid working. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong technical accounting with commercial insight, process improvement and business partnering. You'll join a collaborative finance function where you'll have the opportunity to influence reporting, improve processes and support key business decisions while continuing to develop your own career. The Role Reporting into the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting while providing valuable analysis and insight across the business. Your responsibilities will include: • Leading and supporting month-end close activities • Preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations • Producing monthly management accounts and financial commentary • Analysing financial performance and reporting on key business KPIs • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting • Working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight • Supporting audits and wider finance projects as required About You We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail whilst also understanding the bigger commercial picture. You'll ideally have: • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be actively studying towards qualification) • Previous experience within a Financial Accountant or Management Accountant role • Experience producing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations • Strong Excel skills and confidence analysing financial data • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset • Experience with ERP systems, KPI reporting or Power BI would be advantageous but isn't essential.
