Job description

Axon Moore are working with an exciting Tech business based in North Manchester to appoint a Management Accountant. The company are a growing SME with a presence overseas, are highly acquisitional and are looking to grow significantly further. You will report into the Financial Controller, managing the preparation of the month end management accounts pack, payroll and will be involved with initiatives that challenge systems, processes and explore new technology, like AI for automation and improving accuracy. Salary and Benefits: Salary £48,000 -£52,000 (could stretch for the right candidate) DOE plus 5% bonus, hybrid working 3 days in the office, 25 days holiday plus banks, on-site parking, pension, life insurance and healthcare cover. Other benefits available on request. Your Role: • Take the lead on the month-end close process, ensuring accruals and prepayments are made and completed in line with monthly deadlines. • Full preparation of the monthly management accounts including P&L, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations. • Being proactive to ensure any discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly. • Cash flow management, communicating and maintaining transparency throughout the finance team. • Full responsibility for payroll in the UK and overseas, liaising with external partners and payroll providers and ensuring relevant compliance throughout. • Business partnering to support business profitability, performance, and growth by assisting heads of departments to make sound decisions. • Review accounting processes and practices, utilising new tools such as AI, to recommend improvements that will enhance efficiency and accuracy across the finance function, maintaining compliance with financial regulations. • Train and mentor the Finance Assistant, checking work for accuracy and providing on the job training. • Ad-hoc finance and project work as required. What We Need From You: • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or QBE equivalent with at least 3+ years’ experience in a Management Accountant role. • Experience with accounting systems and advanced Excel sills. Keen to enhance skills where required. • A natural problem solver, keen to investigate and fix issues without being prompted. • Able to show initiative, multi-task, prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment. • Proactive, organised individual comfortable working to set deadlines. • Open and honest with good communication skills. • Operates well in an change-led, fast paced environment in a constantly evolving Tech sector.
