Management Accountant (Hybrid working), £45,000 - £50,000
Our client is a well-established, privately owned group of businesses with a diverse property portfolio. They are looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join their finance team in central Harrogate
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, driving process improvements and supporting the development of the wider finance function..
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
• Produce insightful financial analysis and management information to support business decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Calculate and maintain service charge budgets, reconciliations and year-end statements.
• Support the year-end audit process and statutory reporting requirements.
• Review and improve finance processes to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and support best practice.
• Identify opportunities to maximise the reporting capabilities of Sage 50 and contribute to ongoing system improvements.
• Mentor and support junior members of the finance team, encouraging their development.
• Take ownership of ad hoc finance projects as the function continues to evolve.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings both strong technical accounting skills and a proactive approach to improving processes. You will ideally have:
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be part-qualified or qualified by experience).
• Previous experience preparing full monthly management accounts.
• A strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting finance colleagues (desirable).
• A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to identify opportunities and challenge existing ways of working.
• Experience using Sage 50, or the ability to quickly become proficient.
Salary & Benefits
• £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
• Full-time, permanent position with a 35-hour working week.
• 4 days in the office and Fridays working from home (WFH)
• Central Harrogate close to the train/bus station.
