Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant (14-Month FTC) to join a highly respected property investment and development organisation based in London. Responsibilities: * Produce and deliver quarterly management accounts for smaller entities and third-party accounts efficiently, ensuring timely completion and accuracy in all financial documentation. * Support the Finance Manager during the quarterly consolidation process by preparing comprehensive support schedules for prompt submission to head office. * Assist in drafting statutory accounts for all relevant entities, working closely with the Finance Controller to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines. * Collaborate with external auditors to finalise statutory accounts in accordance with agreed timelines, providing necessary documentation and responding promptly to queries. * Review draft financial statements of third-party entities to confirm consistency with previous year-end reports and identify any significant changes or discrepancies. * Oversee VAT and CIS reporting processes by conducting thorough reconciliations, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed within required timeframes. * Prepare ONS survey forms and related schedules for review by the Finance Controller, maintaining high standards of data integrity throughout. * Proactively train junior team members by sharing your expertise, helping to build capability within the finance function and foster a culture of continuous improvement. * Support the implementation and enhancement of new systems as needed, contributing ideas for process improvements that benefit the wider team. * Assist with daily accounting operations such as payment runs, reviewing journal entries, entering bank payment details during staff absences, and supporting colleagues' development. The Ideal Candidate: * Demonstrable experience in producing management accounts within a property investment or similar sector environment where attention to detail is paramount. * A solid understanding of IFRS/US GAAP accounting standards gained through hands-on involvement in consolidation processes across multiple entities. * Proven track record of assisting with statutory account preparation and working collaboratively with external auditors to meet strict reporting deadlines. * Experience reviewing draft financial statements for accuracy and consistency against prior year-end reports within a multi-entity structure. * Comprehensive knowledge of VAT/CIS reporting requirements including reconciliation processes that ensure timely submission of returns. * Ability to prepare official survey forms (such as ONS) accurately while maintaining high levels of data integrity throughout all reporting activities. * A passion for sharing knowledge by proactively training junior colleagues or less experienced team members within a finance function. * Familiarity with supporting system implementations or upgrades aimed at improving efficiency or accuracy within accounting operations. * Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through effective collaboration with colleagues at all levels of seniority within a small team setting. * Dependable approach to supporting daily accounting operations such as payment runs, journal entry reviews, banking portal administration during staff absences, and general team support.
