Management Accountant

Paignton - Competitive Salary - Permanent - Full Time Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a highly successful and growing specialist engineering and manufacturing business, who are looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their team based in Paignton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join an ambitious SME operating within a specialist manufacturing and engineering environment. Working closely with the Board, senior management and operational teams, the Management Accountant will play a key role in producing accurate management information and providing meaningful financial and commercial insight to support business performance, cost control and future growth. Key responsibilities will include: * Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting * Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial planning * Monitoring manufacturing and project costs, margins, overheads, labour and stock * Supporting job costing, product costing and profitability analysis * Working closely with operational teams to improve cost visibility and support commercial decision-making * Supporting cash flow forecasting, working capital and financial controls * Developing management information, KPIs and reporting for senior management * Supporting improvements to finance systems, processes and reporting We’re looking for an experienced finance professional, ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a strong background in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis. Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or another operationally complex environment would be highly advantageous, particularly where this has included cost accounting, job costing, stock or margin analysis. You’ll be commercially aware, confident working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, comfortable with Excel and Xero, and enjoy taking a proactive, hands-on approach within a growing SME. This role could suit an experienced Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Cost Accountant, Commercial Accountant or Senior Management Accountant looking for a broad and influential position within a growing South Devon business.
