Job description

Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Management Accountant on a permanent basis. Following investment in its finance function and a period of positive transformation, our client is looking to appoint a technically strong Management Accountant to support management reporting, budgeting and financial analysis. With the finance team now on a stable footing, the focus is on enhancing reporting, streamlining month-end processes and driving greater automation and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys producing high-quality management information, analysing financial data and identifying ways to improve processes, while gaining exposure to Finance Business Partnering over time. The Role • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and reporting packs. • Take ownership of key month-end activities, including journals, adjustments and reconciliations. • Prepare and maintain budgets and forecasts, supporting Finance Business Partners. • Deliver variance analysis, benchmarking and ad hoc financial reporting. • Analyse financial data to identify trends, improve reporting and enhance data quality. • Support Finance Business Partners with financial modelling and operational analysis. • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve financial processes. • Work collaboratively across the finance team to strengthen reporting and financial controls. Essential Criteria • Part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), or actively studying. • Experience producing management accounts and working to monthly reporting deadlines. • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including journals, accruals and prepayments. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Strong Excel skills and a proactive approach to improving processes. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience within the not-for-profit, housing or public sector would be advantageous but is not essential. This role offers a salary of £45,000+, an excellent benefits package and hybrid working with two days per week in the office based in Surrey.
