Manual Machinist - Days & Nights

Elevation Recruitment are partnering with a well-established Sheffield engineering manufacturer to appoint a skilled Manual Machinist. Working within a busy machine shop, you will play a key role in producing precision-engineered components to exacting customer and industry standards. Shift Pattern: Days and Nights Rotation Salary: Competitive Location: Sheffield Responsibilities • Manufacture precision components using manual lathes, ensuring all work meets internal quality procedures. • Work from detailed engineering drawings to produce parts accurately and within planned production times. • Maintain a clean and safe work area, supporting strong housekeeping and safety practices. • Interpret technical specifications to deliver components that meet customer expectations and dimensional requirements. • Machine specialist and high-grade materials, including alloys such as Inconel 718. Requirements Core Competencies • Hands-on experience operating manual lathes in a production or engineering environment. • Understanding of tooling selection and application, including feeds, speeds and machine capability to achieve efficient cycle times. • Ability to machine to tight tolerances and work confidently with a range of materials, including high-performance alloys. • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality work. • Clear communication skills within a workshop environment. • Adaptability when responding to changing workloads or priorities. • Strong problem-solving ability when dealing with machining challenges.
