Earn £33,700 to £35,400 in a hands-on Monday-to-Friday quality role where your experience will directly improve manufacturing standards. Quality Technician – Manufacturing Norwich area, Norfolk £33,700 to £35,400 per annum, plus bonus and benefits Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week Permanent, full-time | 100% site-based Take ownership of quality on the factory floor An established UK manufacturing business is creating several new opportunities for experienced Quality Technicians to join its site-based team in the Norwich area. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process, identify defects and non-conformities, investigate recurring issues and help ensure every finished product meets the required standards. This is a practical, hands-on role working closely with Production teams. You will be visible on the factory floor, supporting quality at every stage and contributing to improvements that reduce waste, prevent repeat issues and strengthen overall product quality. Essential experience Previous quality inspection, quality control or quality assurance experience within a manufacturing environment is essential. Applications without relevant manufacturing-quality experience will not be progressed. What’s in it for you? • £33,700 to £35,400 per annum • Eligibility for a company bonus • Monday to Friday working hours • 4% employee pension contribution • 5% employer pension contribution • 22 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays • Holiday increasing to 25 days with length of service • Option to purchase two additional holiday days each year • Life assurance • Paid volunteering time • Free on-site parking • A newly created role with no direct reports What you’ll be doing • Carrying out quality inspections throughout manufacturing, fabrication and assembly • Monitoring production activity to ensure products meet company standards • Ensuring processes follow approved quality procedures and Standard Operating Procedures • Identifying defects, non-conformities and process deviations • Escalating quality concerns and working with Production teams to resolve them • Completing final inspections of finished products • Checking dimensions, functionality, finish and overall product appearance • Ensuring products meet customer specifications and relevant standards • Maintaining accurate inspection records and quality documentation • Reporting recurring defects, repairs, remakes and improvement opportunities • Supporting customer complaint investigations and root cause analysis • Assisting with corrective and preventive actions • Supporting Continuous Improvement, Lean manufacturing and 5S activity • Helping maintain a safe, clean and organised manufacturing environment What we’re looking for You will need: • Previous quality inspection, quality assurance or quality control experience within manufacturing • Experience working in a factory, production, fabrication or assembly environment • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards • Experience identifying defects and non-conforming products • Experience working with Standard Operating Procedures • Strong attention to detail and a right-first-time mindset • The confidence to challenge standards professionally and constructively • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments • Good organisation and time-management skills • Confidence maintaining accurate records and producing clear reports • Competence using Microsoft Office applications • A reliable, proactive and safety-conscious approach Knowledge of ISO 9001, root cause analysis, 5 Whys, Fishbone, corrective and preventive action, Lean manufacturing, 5S or Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.
