Job description

Tish Lyon is a premium consumer jewellery and piercing brand. We run piercing studios and sell beautiful jewellery, with a flagship concession partnership inside John Lewis at the heart of the business, alongside a growing ecommerce operation. We are part of the same group as Wholesale Body Jewellery and share its infrastructure, but Tish Lyon is its own brand with its own audience and its own way of doing things. Ecommerce is where we see the biggest growth ahead, and this role is central to getting us there. The role We are looking for a well-rounded Marketing Manager to lead all marketing for Tish Lyon. This is a varied role that blends partnership and relationship management, creative production, brand, influencers, events, ecommerce and digital, with the John Lewis partnership at its centre. It is a more traditional marketing manager role than a purely digital one. There is a serious digital component, but a lot of the role sits around relationships and creative production. You will set the direction and get hands-on with the work, leading a small team and a network of agencies and freelancers. What you will do • Own and nurture the John Lewis partnership, our flagship retail relationship, as a reliable, responsive and confident lead • Run creative production end to end, briefing and directing photographers, designers, videographers and other creatives to deliver strong, on-brand work • Protect and build the brand, with the category knowledge and rigour to make sure everything we publish is accurate and on point • Manage our influencer programme, an important part of our marketing mix • Plan and deliver events and physical print • Drive the ecommerce side, central to our growth ambition • Coordinate our digital marketing, spanning the paid and SEO work delivered through agencies, plus social, content and ecommerce performance • Lead, manage and develop more junior team members, with direction, mentorship and performance management What we are looking for A well-rounded marketing manager with a premium brand sensibility, who is as strong on relationships and creative as on the numbers. We are not looking for a specialist in every one of the areas below. We want someone with a solid working knowledge of each, and a real understanding of how they fit together, who can set the direction, manage the agencies and freelancers who go deep, and roll their sleeves up where it counts. The core of the role, in rough order of priority: • Partnership and relationship management. The John Lewis partnership is paramount. We need someone confident managing a demanding flagship retail relationship. • Creative production. Running productions end to end and getting genuinely good, on-brand work out of creative freelancers. • Brand and content, done credibly. A premium sensibility, and the rigour to keep everything accurate and on-brand. • Influencer management. • Events and physical print. • Ecommerce. A solid grasp of the ecommerce side that will drive our growth. • Digital marketing. Coordinating paid and SEO through agencies, plus social, content and performance. • People leadership. Direction, mentorship and performance management of junior staff. Category knowledge matters here more than almost anywhere. You need to understand the jewellery and piercing worlds, or be genuinely committed and able to learn them properly and fast. Getting the category right in public is non-negotiable for a premium brand. About you • Experience in a marketing management role • Strong experience managing partnerships, agencies and creative production • A solid grasp of ecommerce and digital marketing • Knowledge of the jewellery or piercing category, or a genuine ability to learn it fast • Has a demonstrable track record of delivery, with real examples of what you personally shipped and the results • Has excellent attention to detail, in your work and in your application • Is happy to muck in and make sure things do not fall through the cracks • Treats the role as their own to grow, and can be trusted to run with something unsupervised • Is fully committed to delivering a great product and experience, and to growing the brand What we offer A starting salary of £40-50k (with a room for negotiation for the right person) as well as great benefits package, company events, free parking and health and wellbeing programme. We will prioritise candidates who live within the commutable distance from Poole however we will also consider candidates who lives further away as long as they can commit to visiting the office at least one time per week. How to apply We have chosen to work with our friends at ADLIB who are managing the recruitment process for WBJ. Please note that any candidates that approach WBJ directly will be forwarded to Ania at ADLIB for consideration.
