Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Materials Chemist to join a well-established organisation based in the South East area. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of chemists and engineers to develop, test, and manufacture advanced materials, including polymers, chemical-resistant coatings, and adhesives. Qualifications & Experience • Minimum BSc in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline. • Ideally 2–4 years' experience working within a product development and manufacturing environment. • Experience in adhesive formulation and development. • Knowledge of polymer blending, formulation, and testing using analytical instrumentation. • Experience contributing to both short- and long-term R&D projects involving polymer coatings and adhesive products, as well as continuous product improvement initiatives. • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies. • Experience maintaining accurate laboratory records, including experimental procedures, results, and conclusions. Personal Qualities The successful candidate will demonstrate: • A methodical and organised approach with excellent attention to detail. • Strong numerical and computer skills. • A high level of accuracy in all aspects of work. • Good analytical and troubleshooting abilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues at all levels.
