Materials Controller Location: Leeds Salary: £29,345 Hours: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week (Flexible start and finish times) The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join a busy maintenance and engineering operation in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with a background in materials control, logistics, stores, or supply chain operations. Working within the Stores team, you will play a key role in ensuring materials and components are received, controlled, stored and distributed efficiently to support operational requirements. Key Responsibilities • Managing goods inwards and ensuring materials are stored correctly and accurately. • Raising requisitions and purchase orders. • Preparing materials for shipment and overhaul. • Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently. • Issuing materials to operational teams. • Carrying out stock counts and inventory control activities. • Monitoring material usage and stock levels. • Expediting orders and liaising with suppliers where required. • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards to promote efficiency and safety. • Working closely with stores and operational teams to ensure material availability. • Following company procedures and maintaining accurate records. About You • Strong understanding of materials control, stock management and purchasing processes. • Experience processing purchase orders and managing inventory. • Excellent planning and organisational skills. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications. • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines. • Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong commitment to health and safety. Essential Requirements • Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence. • Full UK Driving Licence. • Eligibility to drive company vehicles in accordance with the company's motor insurance policy. • Maximum of 6 penalty points.
