This specialist secondary school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and provides a creative, nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to achieve both academically and personally. With a strong emphasis on the performing arts, the school offers an engaging curriculum designed to build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. The RoleAs a Maths Teacher, you will: • Deliver engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. • Plan and adapt lessons to meet the individual learning needs of students with SEMH needs. • Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. • Use creative teaching strategies to encourage participation and build confidence. • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, adapting teaching where required. • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, therapists, and senior leaders to support student development. • Build positive relationships that promote engagement, resilience, and academic success. The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. • Experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting. • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs, SEND, or other additional needs is desirable. • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships. • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills. • A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to teaching. • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
