Job Title: Teacher of Maths Location: Lewisham, London Salary: MPS/UPS (Classroom Teachers' Pay Scale) Contract: Full-time (STPCD) About the RoleA secondary school in Lewisham is seeking a Teacher of Maths to deliver high-quality teaching and support strong pupil outcomes. You will join a supportive department committed to high standards, progress, and engaging learning. PurposeTo provide high-quality teaching and ensure pupils achieve well in a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment, in line with STPCD. Key Responsibilities • Teach Maths classes as allocated • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons • Set and mark homework regularly • Track, assess, and report on pupil progress • Support behaviour and attendance standards • Contribute to curriculum planning and schemes of work • Attend meetings and parents' evenings • Support pupils with additional needs • Act as a Form Tutor • Contribute to enrichment and extra-curricular activities • Work as directed by the Headteacher Person Specification • QTS or equivalent • Strong Maths subject knowledge • Ability to teach effectively across abilities • Commitment to high standards and student progress • Good classroom management skills • Team player with strong communication skills APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR VERITAS EDUCATION • All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and all employment breaks must be explained • You must have legal right to work in the UK • You must be willing to attend a registration interview Veritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area.
