Job description

purpose of the job The Client's Flex MBA is transitioning from a fully online programme to hybrid delivery, with both in-person and online module deliveries. The programme policies, procedures, communications and processes need to be reviewed and updated in light of the new delivery model and an anticipated increase in student numbers. The MBA Operations Lead will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the MBA Programme Team, which forms part of the wider School of Management Teaching and Learning Support Team. The role will guide and coach the team to successfully deliver projects accurately, to schedule, and to an excellent standard. In doing so, the role holder will work closely with the Programme Director in particular to understand the vision and brief / required spec, as well as the Teaching and Learning Manager, who has overall responsibility for the administration of the School's teaching programmes. Duties and responsibilities Leadership and team supervision • Effective day-to-day supervision of the MBA Programme Administration team and associated programme tasks. • Guide the team on planning, resourcing, best practice and decision making. • Lead the team in developing smarter and efficient ways of working. • Mentor and motivate the programme team, meeting regularly and providing feedback on practices and outputs. • Ensure the team's work is reviewed and accurate before passing to Programme Director and supporting team to achieve high standards independently. • Develop the team's project management, stakeholder management, and service delivery skills. Project management • Have oversight of projects across the MBA programme. • Take a proactive approach to driving projects forward. • Reporting and presentation skills to a senior/exec level • Support the team in progressing on multiple projects at the same time, ensuring deadlines are met and workflows continue. Other Duties • Lead regular progress meetings with programme team • Meet with Programme Director and Teaching & Learning Manager as needed to understand programme priorities. • Contribute to the development and implementation of School strategies and policies in relation to the teaching and student experience in relation to the MBA programme. • Develop excellent working relationships with senior programme staff. • Develop a broad understanding of the nature of teaching and learning in the School and tailor administrative systems accordingly • Be an advocate for change, leading on change projects and promoting a positive attitude to cultural and process change within the programme. • Ensure compliance with key Client's regulations, including GDPR, EDI and Health and Safety guidance. Qualifications, experience and knowledge • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience in a HEI environment. • Application Previous relevant experience in a senior administrative role supporting all aspects of the student lifecycle on taught undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. • Demonstrable experience of initiating, reviewing and developing administrative systems and processes in a Higher Education environment and an awareness of the issues relating to the effective management of academic programmes. • Experience of successfully leading a team, with responsibility for motivating and developing colleagues, setting objectives, allocating tasks and monitoring workloads and performance. • Demonstrable experience of managing projects in an HEI setting. • Change management experience. • Proven experience in defining and implementing outstanding student experience and tailoring local processes and systems accordingly.
