Be accountable and responsible for maintaining own nursing practice. The post-holder will be able to underpin applied theoretical knowledge to practice utilizing analytical and judgmental skills in a variety of situations to determine direct patient care. Ensure a patient/ client-focused approach to care. Work with consultants and members of the wider MDT to enhance the patient journey. Provide dynamic leadership for the nursing, ward clerks and housekeeper team and acts as a role model. To be responsible for monitoring and coordinating activities within the designated area over the whole 24-hour period. Act as named lead for Risk Management in ward area. To manage pay and non-pay budgets within allocated resources.Effectively manage "off duty" requests so as to ensure optimum flexibility for staffing on the ward whilst optimizing the "Improving Working Lives" Strategy.
