Job description

Be accountable and responsible for maintaining own nursing practice. The post-holder will be able to underpin applied theoretical knowledge to practice utilizing analytical and judgmental skills in a variety of situations to determine direct patient care. To be responsible for the delivery of patient centered care. Maintaining own specialist knowledge and clinical skills within the field of Spinal Cord Injury, participating in direct patient care and uphold evidence for revalidation as required by the NMC. The post-holder must be able to demonstrate extremely developed dexterous skills during clinical practice and the capability to manage periods of moderate physical effort during the shift. Ensure a patient/ client-focused approach to care. Work with consultants and members of the wider MDT to enhance the patient journey. Provide dynamic leadership for the nursing, ward clerks and housekeeper team and acts as a role model. To be responsible for monitoring and coordinating activities within the designated area over the whole 24-hour period. Act as named lead for Risk Management in ward area. To manage pay and non-pay budgets within allocated resources.Effectively manage "off duty" requests so as to ensure optimum flexibility for staffing on the ward whilst optimizing the "Improving Working Lives" Strategy.
