Job description

Mechanical Engineer £42,000 - £44,000 per annum Locations: Margate, Ashford or Canterbury (Static Sites) Venn Group is working with a large healthcare organisation in East Kent to recruit experienced Mechanical Engineers to join their Estates and Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering department responsible for maintaining critical healthcare facilities. The role offers a varied workload across planned maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance activities and improvement projects, helping to ensure services remain safe, efficient and operational at all times. Key Responsibilities • Undertake planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment • Diagnose and rectify faults across HVAC systems, AHUs, boilers, pumps, water systems and associated mechanical infrastructure • Support the delivery of statutory compliance and ensure maintenance activities meet relevant regulations and standards • Assist with minor installations, refurbishments and improvement projects • Work collaboratively with Estates Managers and wider engineering teams to maintain service continuity across the site • Respond promptly to breakdowns and engineering issues to minimise disruption to critical services • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete documentation in line with departmental procedures About You • Qualified in a Mechanical Engineering discipline (City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent) • Previous experience maintaining mechanical plant within a large or complex environment, such as healthcare, education, commercial facilities, manufacturing or public sector estates • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills • Good understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance standards and maintenance best practice • Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively as part of a wider team What's on Offer? • 26 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days after 3 years' service • Generous NHS pension scheme with employer contributions matched up to 8% • Stable, long-term career opportunities within a respected organisation • Ongoing training and professional development • Static site positions with no extensive travel requirements To apply or find out more, please contact Venn Group for a confidential discussion.
