Mechanical Engineer Croydon - South London / Surrey Area £52,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package I'm currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing business operating within the transport and industrial sectors. This is a hands-on engineering role supporting overhaul, maintenance, investigation, and continuous improvement activities across a range of complex mechanical products and systems. The RoleKey responsibilities include: • Providing practical engineering support across production, projects, quality, and operations. • Conducting condition assessments, fault diagnosis, root cause investigations, and warranty reviews. • Producing technical reports, method statements, test procedures, and overhaul instructions. • Managing engineering changes, concessions, and technical documentation. • Supporting overhaul and refurbishment projects from planning through to completion. • Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues. • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice. About YouThe ideal candidate will have: • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline. • At least 6 years' engineering experience within manufacturing, maintenance, overhaul, industrial, transport, power generation, oil & gas, marine, rail, or similar sectors. • Strong hands-on engineering and problem-solving capability. • Experience writing technical procedures, reports, and engineering documentation. • Knowledge of quality systems and engineering standards. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • A proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused approach.
