Job description

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer • Annual Salary: £38,000 • Location: Stoke-on-Trent • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Join our client's Total FM team at a leading UK private sector provider of housing and neighbourhood services. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to deliver a professional, compliance-led Facilities Management coordination service, ensuring facilities operate at their best across various sectors including education and health. Day-to-day of the role: • Carry out planned maintenance in line with the PPM schedule and complete service reports as required. • Perform installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works. • Assist other skilled trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work. • Conduct minor repairs to the building fabric to ensure safety and security of the premises. • Collaborate and cooperate with partners and colleagues to deliver a customer-focused service. • Work closely with the Helpdesk to ensure jobs raised on the CAFM system are closed correctly. • Participate in the out of hours on-call rota. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent practical experience). • Proven experience carrying out PPMs and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant. • Knowledge of building services systems, including pumps, motors, valves, pipework, and basic mechanical plant. • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety, including risk assessments and permits to work. • Ability to fault-find, diagnose, and carry out repairs in a live site environment. • Experience completing maintenance documentation and using CAFM systems.
