At OFG we allow for greater work life balance and extra time to do the things you love outside work Job Title: Mechanics Instructor / Teacher Location: Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk, IP14 5QX Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.15am - 3.45pm Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience/qualifications, not pro rata) Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Start: October 2026 UK applicants only – no sponsorship available About the Role A Mechanics Instructor/Teacher will play a key role in securing high-quality teaching, promoting the effective use of resources, and driving continuous improvement in learning, achievement, and outcomes for all pupils, working closely with the Headteacher. The role involves teaching a range of subjects as required to support the effective delivery of the school curriculum, ensuring that lessons are engaging, inclusive, and responsive to pupils’ needs. In addition, the postholder will undertake other areas of responsibility, as agreed with the Head of Education, to support the ongoing development and effective implementation of the school’s curriculum and educational provision. Key Responsibilities • Take responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning in Mechanics, continually developing and improving provision. • Plan, deliver, and evaluate an engaging and effective Mechanics curriculum. • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports progress and achievement. • Deliver motivating, well-structured lessons with high expectations for all learners. • Provide personalised and differentiated learning to meet a wide range of needs and abilities. • Maintain high expectations while building fair, respectful, and trusting relationships with pupils. • Use assessment effectively to track progress, address misconceptions, and inform future planning. • Embed literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills into teaching and wider professional practice.
