Medical Laboratory Assistant Southmead Bristol Hospital | Band 3 | Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm | Full-Time | Temporary Introduction Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join a busy laboratory in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with laboratory, healthcare, pathology, or medical testing experience to support essential diagnostic services and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care. Working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring patient specimens are processed accurately while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and laboratory practice. Key Duties • Process, receive, and handle patient specimens accurately and efficiently. • Perform basic laboratory testing and record results accurately. • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with procedures. • Complete accurate data entry and maintain laboratory records. • Follow laboratory quality standards, health and safety procedures, and infection control protocols. • Monitor and manage laboratory stock levels and supplies. • Work closely with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support daily operations. Requirements • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records. • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. • Flexible approach to working hours.
