Job description
• Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries
• Book, amend and cancel appointments
• Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records
• Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols
• Scan, code and process incoming correspondence
• Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks
• Liaise with hospitals, community services and other healthcare providers
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Contribute to the smooth day to day running of reception

to update knowledge and skills
• Using appropriate infection
control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from
hazards
• Reporting potential risks

• Attending Health & safety
meetings
• Undertake periodic infection
control training
