Job description

• Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner • Answer telephone calls and respond to patient enquiries • Book, amend and cancel appointments • Register new patients and maintain accurate patient records • Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols • Scan, code and process incoming correspondence • Support clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative tasks • Liaise with hospitals, community services and other healthcare providers • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times • Contribute to the smooth day to day running of reception The above list of duties is not exhaustive and may be subject to change as deemed necessary Health & Safety • You will assist in promoting and maintaining your own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy • Assist in maintaining and adhering to Health & Safety Policies and Procedures • Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks • Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards • Reporting potential risks identified • Attending Health & safety meetings • Undertake periodic infection control training Equality and Diversity • Support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues, to include • Acting in a way that recognises the importance of peoples rights, interpreting them in a way that is consistent with the practice procedures and policies and current legislation • Respecting the privacy, dignity, needs and benefits of patients, carers and colleagues • Behaving in a manner that is welcoming to and of the individual, is non-judgemental and respects their circumstances, feeling priorities and rights.
