Job description

About the Role We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist to join our healthcare team across our Surrey sites. As the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception services. Full training will be provided, along with opportunities for ongoing development within a supportive healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide a warm and professional welcome to patients, visitors, and staff. • Manage front-of-house reception duties across multiple sites. • Answer telephone enquiries, resolve patient queries, and direct calls appropriately. • Book appointments, issue confirmations, and send reminders. • Maintain accurate patient records and complete electronic filing of correspondence and results. • Process patient referrals and bookings using the Patient Administration System. • Liaise with GP surgeries and healthcare professionals regarding patient information and test results. • Support appointment scheduling to minimise missed or cancelled appointments. • Assist patients and visitors as required, including escorting them to clinics or wards. • Open and close sites when rostered for early, late, or Saturday shifts. • Work closely with colleagues to ensure the efficient operation of services. • Undertake any additional duties appropriate to the role. Requirements Essential • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment. • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office. • Flexibility to work across Epsom and Cobham sites. • Availability to work shifts between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. • Right to work in the UK. Desirable • Previous reception, administration, or healthcare experience. • Understanding of patient confidentiality and healthcare procedures. • Full driving licence and access to transport.
