Job description

As a Medical Receptionist in a primary care setting, you will be the first point of contact for patients attending the practice. Your role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations by managing appointments, patient communication, and administrative tasks, all while delivering a welcoming and professional service. Key Responsibilities: • Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner • Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and reminders using the practices scheduling system • Register new patients and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in compliance with data protection policies • Handle incoming phone calls and patient enquiries promptly and efficiently • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation • Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including processing payments if required • Receive and distribute incoming mail, test results, and correspondence to relevant clinical staff • Support clinical teams by preparing patient information for consultations • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in line with GDPR and NHS guidelines • Carry out other administrative duties as required to support the practice Skills and Qualifications: • Previous experience in a healthcare or reception role is preferred • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure • Proficient in using computer systems and software relevant to primary care • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements HOURS are week One & Week Two 51.75 hrs over two weeks Week 1 Monday 08.00 to 13.00 1hr Lunch 14.00 to 18.45 Tuesday Day off Wednesday 13.00 to 18.00 Thursday 08.00 to 13.00 Lunch 14.00 to ) Friday 07.45 to 13.00 Week 2 Monday 08.00 to13.00 1hr Lunch 14.00 to 18.45 Tuesday Day off Wednesday 13.00 to 18.00 Thursday 12.00 to 18.45 Friday Day off Job description Job responsibilities As a Medical Receptionist in a primary care setting, you will be the first point of contact for patients attending the practice.
