Job description

To implement measures and guidelines to ensure all medical rotas are at the correct banding and are maintained at the same level. In conjunction with the Care Group Managers, to maintain records of all medical leave within the Care Group. To act as the first point of call for leave requests, checking leaving requested against out of hours/on-call commitments and referring up to service manager and general managers where required. To ensure adherence to Trust leave guidelines and to seek locum cover where appropriate through the Trusts agreed procedures. Implementation of control measures to manage usage of locum and agency. Ensure that correct costing and payments of related invoices are carried out. Maintain an account of budget usage and liaise with the Care Group on expenditure of medical staff in line with monthly budgets and comment on monthly performance. Ensure that complaints in regards to medical staff, both permanent and bank/agency are dealt with in a timely manner and escalated where necessary. Liaise with HR, medical personnel, Finance and the Care Group Management Team, with regards to managing budgets and identifying vacant posts. In turn ensuring that adequate medical staff are in place. Work closely with the Workforce Department to set up and run the junior doctors monitoring exercises and support in the feedback to departments on outcomes. Maintain leave records for all doctors within the Care Group and ensure aspects of basic pay, annual leave, sick and all relevant documents have been completed and signatories completed and submitted to Payroll in line with requirements. To attend relevant medical personnel meetings and induction to outline the expectations of staff when in post in relation to absence reporting and rota compliance. Check and compare agency invoices in line with the Agency processes in place.
