Melter/Furnace Operative

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company Professional Profile Reliable and safety-focused industrial operator with experience supporting furnace operations and heavy material handling. Proven ability to work in team environments operating VIM, VAR, ESR, or similar equipment, with strong attention to quality, safety, and process control. Demonstrates excellent discipline, accountability, and commitment to maintaining high operational standards and workplace organisation. Key Skills & Experience • Safe handling of materials using overhead cranes and forklift trucks • Furnace operations support (VIM, VAR, ESR, or similar industrial processes) • Charge preparation, mixing, and furnace loading • Crucible, refractory, and mould preparation • Experience with heat treatment furnaces (loading/unloading) • Strong adherence to QA procedures and documentation (melt records where applicable) • High standards of housekeeping and safety compliance • Experience with improvement activities and applying training in operational settings • Ability to perform furnace cleaning and maintenance tasks Core Competencies • Health & Safety Awareness – proactive and compliant with all safety standards • Quality Focus – accurate and consistent adherence to QA procedures • Teamwork – supports colleagues and shares knowledge effectively • Accountability – takes responsibility for tasks and outcomes • Work Ethic – strong timekeeping, reliability, and discipline • Continuous Improvement – open to learning and process enhancement The position also includes a BONUS OF UP TO CIRCA £4,300+ ON TOP OF THE SALARY
