Mental Health Social WorkerOverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Social Worker to join our diverse and inclusive team. This role focuses on supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing holistic care, advocating for their rights, and promoting well-being within the community. Responsibilities • Assess the mental health needs of clients and develop individualised care plans. • Provide counselling, support, and crisis intervention services. • Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, and community resources to ensure comprehensive care. • Advocate for clients rights and access to services, promoting social justice and equality. • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards. • Facilitate support groups and educational workshops to increase mental health awareness. • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous service improvement. • Stay informed about current mental health policies, legislation, and best practices. Qualifications • Degree in Social Work or related field; relevant professional accreditation/license. • Experience working in mental health settings is preferred. • Strong understanding of mental health issues, social determinants of health, and trauma-informed care. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills. • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, respecting cultural differences and promoting inclusively. • Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development. • Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information. Day-to-Day • Conduct assessments and meet with clients both in-office and in community settings. • Coordinate with healthcare providers to organize treatment plans. • Document client progress and update case files regularly. • Respond to crisis situations with empathy and professionalism. • Attend team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills. • Engage with community organisations to build supportive networks. • Ensure accessibility of services for undeserved or marginalised groups.
