Role: Military Claims Fee Earner Location: Castleford, West Yorkshire Salary: £30,000 - £55,000 Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid CRA Consulting is proud to be working exclusively with a specialist claimant law firm to recruit a Military Claims Fee Earner to join its growing Military Claims team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced claimant litigation professional to develop their career within a highly respected niche practice. You'll manage your own caseload of military compensation and personal injury matters, acting for serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families in a rewarding area of law where your work genuinely makes a difference. Whether you already have military claims experience or are looking to specialise from a claimant personal injury background, this role offers excellent training, high-quality work and genuine long-term career prospects. The Role You'll take ownership of a varied caseload of military compensation and personal injury claims, progressing matters from initial instruction through to settlement, with support from an experienced and collaborative team. The work covers a broad range of service-related claims, including: • Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) • Non-Freezing Cold Injury (NFCI) • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) • Asbestos-related disease • Other military personal injury and occupational illness claims Your responsibilities will include: • Managing your own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated military claims. • Investigating liability, causation and quantum to build effective litigation strategies. • Drafting legal correspondence, witness statements, schedules of loss and court documentation. • Reviewing medical records, service records and expert evidence. • Liaising with clients, medical experts, counsel, the Ministry of Defence and other key stakeholders. • Negotiating settlements and progressing claims efficiently through the litigation process. • Maintaining compliance with court deadlines, regulatory requirements and internal procedures. • Delivering an exceptional standard of client care throughout each stage of the claim. About You We're keen to hear from candidates with experience managing their own claimant litigation caseload. Suitable backgrounds include: • Personal Injury Fee Earner • Litigation Executive • Litigation Paralegal • Legal Executive (CILEx) • Claims Handler • Personal Injury Solicitor (NQ+) • Civil Litigation Fee Earner You'll ideally have: • Experience handling claimant personal injury, industrial disease or civil litigation matters. • Confidence managing your own caseload with minimal supervision. • Strong organisational and time management skills. • Excellent drafting and communication abilities. • A compassionate, client-focused approach. • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Previous military claims experience is welcomed but not essential. The firm is happy to consider candidates with a solid claimant PI background who are looking to move into this specialist area, with full support and training provided.
