Our client a growing Freight Forwarder near Reading are looking for a Multimodal Operations Clerk (Air, Road, Sea, Import/Export and Cross-Trade)
The Role
The role is office based, the job will be varied but will focus mainly on the day-to-day freight forwarding operation including quoting, booking and managing a transport movement from start to finish. Ideally you will be multi-modal experienced Import and Export but the company will train in weaker areas which would be reflected in the salary on offer
This will involve but is not limited to:
· Raising and arranging customs clearances (CDS)
· Managing booking slots with suppliers and receivers
· Keeping customers fully updated on the status of their movement
· Creating and updating bookings on our Freight Management Software
· The role will require constant communication by telephone and email to our customers and hauliers in order to provide an exceptional logistics service.
Key Requirements
· Positive and solution based approach to work
· Excellent customer service skills
· Confident communicating via both phone and email
· Proven experience in Freight Forwarding or similar
· Previous use of Microsoft office packages in a work environment
· Be able to learn new IT systems quickly and accurately
· Be a team player that is focused on delivering the best possible customer experience
· UK National or right to work in the UK essential, no visa can be offered.

The hours to be covered are between 7am and 6pm - so either early start and early finish or slightly later start and finish. 37.5 hour week. 1 in 5 weekends from home - time off in lieu
