MULTIMODAL FREIGHT OPERATOR Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Multimodal Freight Operator to join a growing freight forwarding business. This is a varied end to end operations role, managing both import and export shipments across air, sea and road freight. Working closely with customers, overseas agents, carriers and internal teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring freight moves efficiently while delivering a high level of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle. Key Responsibilities • Manage import and export shipments across air, sea and road freight from booking through to final delivery • Process booking requests received from customers, overseas agents and internal departments • Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers and transport partners to arrange cost effective and efficient freight solutions • Prepare and process all shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations • Keep customers informed throughout the shipment process, providing regular updates and resolving any queries • Monitor shipments from origin through to destination, proactively resolving delays or operational issues • Assist with quotations and pricing requests, working alongside the commercial team where required • Coordinate with customs, transport providers, warehouses and internal departments to ensure shipments run smoothly • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and overseas partners • Maintain accurate shipment records and update the company operating system accordingly • Keep up to date with customs procedures, industry regulations and best practice • Support colleagues across the wider operations team when required About You We're looking for an experienced freight forwarding professional who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service. You'll ideally have: • Previous experience within freight forwarding operations • Experience managing import, export or multimodal freight movements • Knowledge of air, sea and/or road freight operations • Excellent communication and customer service skills • Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail • The ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines • A proactive and solution focused approach to problem solving • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team • Confidence working under pressure in a busy operational environment • A flexible approach with a willingness to support the wider business when required What's on Offer • Competitive salary depending on experience • Opportunity to work across all modes of freight forwarding • Varied role covering both import and export operations • Supportive working environment with ongoing training and development • Excellent long term career progression within a growing logistics business
