NDY Senior Security Engineer (Digital Buildings), LondonLondon, GB-GB, United KingdomNew Engineering 6 hours ago Post Date Requisition # The Position We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Senior Engineer - Security to join our London Digital Building Team, which is part of our Global Engineering Group. You will report to the Section Manager, overseeing various sectors, including but not limited to commercial, residential, hotel, retail, industrial, laboratories, and data centres. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about security engineering and possesses strong technical skills, excelling in delivering security solutions and engaging with clients. Key Responsibilities • Design electronic security systems, including electronic access control systems, intruder detection systems, CCTV, duress systems, and intercom systems. • Develop security management systems and physical security elements, such as perimeter security, building protective measures, door hardware assessments, and vehicle access systems. • Implement Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, Security Risk Assessments, and security planning. • Engage in business development and networking to grow the team and secure new projects, including participation in industry events, panels, and general networking. • Facilitate client security meetings and workshops. • Attend design meetings with clients, architects, and other discipline engineers. • Coordinate proactively with the project design team and collaborate closely to document projects. • Conduct condition audits of existing buildings. • Manage project finances and track resourcing hours. • Prepare user return briefs, design specifications, and design-level schematics using available templates. • Provide detailed drawing mark-ups for the drafting team, including elevation details and isometrics. • Assist with cyber security and security advisory services within the broader team. • Perform detailed progress inspections and witness testing alongside the security contractor and client. • Engage in research and development to continually enhance security documentation. • Gather requirements from stakeholders, understand client problems, and identify desired outcomes. • Develop design and engineering requirements for security installations of varying complexity. • Collaborate across a dynamic Digital Building team, innovating within the built environment. • Prepare technical reports and presentations, conveying technical concepts to various audiences. • Participate in developing security sector offerings and engage with contractors and manufacturers on a technical level. • Ensure that NDY's Quality System is implemented and maintained on projects. • Participate in personal and professional development training as required. • Engage in the Performance Management Process and maintain individual assessment and development tools. Who We're Looking For • A minimum of five years' engineering experience in security engineering. • A relevant tertiary qualification combined with equivalent training, accreditation, and experience. • Experienced in business development activities and a track record of winning work • Demonstrated experience writing specifications, technical reports, and producing quality technical presentations aligned to attendees' levels of understanding. • Experience commissioning and validating the installation of security systems. • Site experience with security protocols, networks, and control strategies. • Excellent ability to read and understand designs and schematics. • A working interest in information technology, networks, and computer systems. • An understanding of cyber security compliance and concepts of user experience design. • Interest in Internet of Things technology and various relevant protocols. • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, conveying technical concepts clearly. • Experience in communications is desirable but not essential • Strong problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency with Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
