Network Engineer

Network Engineer Bradford (On-Site) Rate: £275 per day (Inside IR35) 4 Months A Network Engineer is required for our public sector client who are based in Bradford. The successful candidate will bring solid networking experience and a collaborative approach to supporting critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on support for LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple sites Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches and routers Assist with firewall rule changes and basic policy management (Palo Alto or similar) Support VPN and remote access solutions Monitor network performance and respond to alerts using tools like SolarWinds or PRTG Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes Participate in change and incident management processes Skills & Experience Experience in network support or engineering roles Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and network diagnostics Experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNA-level knowledge) Exposure to Palo Alto firewalls and/or Cisco ISE to implement wired and wireless network access control and micro segmentation. Experience with Fibre and copper cable management (datacentre clean ups) Familiarity with NAC solutions and enterprise network security practices Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
