• Care Assistant - Nights • Location: St Giles View, Winchester • 36 hour night contract available • £13.38 per hour (£13.72 with NVQ2) • An additional 10% will be paid for night shifts and weekend shifts as a premium uplift. • Not for Profit care provider • Free meal on shift • Paid breaks • Free initial DBS check The Brendoncare Foundation are delighted to be looking for Care Assistants to join our team at our new 60 bed care home. Brendoncare St Giles View is a modern development in our home city of Winchester, which provides 60 purpose built en-suite residential, nursing and dementia bedrooms. Leisure facilities include a café/restaurant, hair and beauty salon and community spaces. This home has landscaped gardens and enjoys stunning views of the South Downs. Who are you? Our Care Assistants display an undeniable drive to provide person centred care for our residents. Can you match this? We are seeking Care Assistants who shares our passion for providing the best possible care for our residents whilst advocating for their dignity at all times. Someone who can demonstrate professionalism with energy in every aspect of the role and a commitment to ensuring our residents are able to continue to live their best life. Whilst wanting to work alongside our fantastic team; possessing good communication skills, being reliable and able to adapt to the needs of each resident in your care are just some of the key qualities we look for in our colleagues. We need you to be like minded in this approach, valuing the small things which are important to each of our residents and their families. We’d love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care or have had some care experience but this is not essential as we provide lots of training. The key to us is that you share our values of kindness, dedication, empowerment and forward-thinking. What will I be doing? • Providing personal care to clients which is person centred and respects individual choices • Providing additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of life • Acting as a Key-worker to a number of clients • Using personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plans • Documenting care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift • Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the adherence of confidentiality • Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents • Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc. What can we offer? • Minimum of 5.6 weeks' holiday including bank holidays • Enhanced annual leave after five years to reward long service and dedication • Extensive training and continual personal development • Paid breaks and meals provided while on duty in our care homes • Free initial DBS check • Free parking (subject to availability) • An Employee Assistance Programme offering 24 hour support for staff and their immediate family members • Early Pay Safeguarding is a core priority for us.
