Nursery Housekeeper / Kitchen Assistant - Children’s Day Nursery We are currently seeking a dedicated Nursery Housekeeper / Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at iStep Learning, a small, close-knit company specialising in early years childcare. Our emphasis on healthy eating is central to our service, and our housekeeping staff play a vital role in ensuring that nutritious, high-quality meals are provided throughout the day. At iStep Learning, we pride ourselves on our family-feel culture - something that makes us a truly special place to work. Working hours: 30 per week. Monday to Friday, 09:00-15:00 Hourly rate: £12.72 (paid monthly and dependent on experience, qualifications, and suitability) Contract: Permanent (subject to a 6-month probationary period, DBS clearance, and two written references) About the Role: As a Housekeeper, you’ll be responsible for supporting the smooth running of our nursery kitchen and overall housekeeping duties. Your contribution will help ensure our learning spaces remain clean, organised, and welcoming, and that children receive healthy meals and snacks throughout the day. You will: • Prepare and serve snacks and meals, beginning with breakfast. • Ensure all food is served in accordance with dietary requirements, allergen guidelines and food hygiene standards. • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas. • Manage laundry, wash and sterilise kitchenware, and dispose of waste appropriately. • Rotate stock and receive deliveries. • Keep nursery communal areas clean, tidy and inviting - from the entrance to cloakrooms. • Work collaboratively with the nursery team to support children’s daily routines.
