Job description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Nursing Associate to join our team. This is a key clinical role supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care, health promotion, and chronic disease management within a general practice setting.
The successful candidate will be an NMC-registered Nursing Associate who works within their scope of practice, contributes to patient-centred care, and supports the wider clinical team.
You will manage your own clinical workload, support preventative healthcare, and play an active role in improving patient outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
• Deliver high standards of patient-centred nursing care
• Undertake chronic disease monitoring (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)
• Perform wound care, dressings, and suture removal
• Carry out NHS health checks and screening activities
• Conduct phlebotomy and basic clinical procedures
• Administer vaccinations and immunisations (training can be provided)
• Support health promotion clinics (e.g. smoking cessation, weight management)
Patient Care & Support
• Contribute to holistic patient assessments
• Support patients with long-term conditions and preventative care planning
• Promote independence, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles
• Liaise effectively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
Clinical Governance & Safety
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records in line with NMC standards
• Participate in infection control and clinical safety processes
• Support safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children
• Assist with clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
Teamwork & Communication
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and the wider practice team
• Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues
• Contribute to team meetings and service development
Professional Responsibilities
• Work in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Participate in appraisal, training, and continuing professional development
• Work within practice policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
• Take responsibility for identifying risks and maintaining a safe working environment
