Occupational Therapist Assistant

At Waterloo Manor we are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting licensed occupational therapists in delivering patient-centred therapy programmes aimed at improving functional independence and quality of life. Duties • Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing therapy programmes tailored to individual patient needs • Support patients during therapy sessions, encouraging participation and engagement • Prepare therapy materials and equipment required for sessions • Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapist • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy activities and patient responses • Support patients with daily activities, promoting independence and confidence • Contribute to the organisation of therapy schedules and appointments • Uphold health and safety standards within the clinical environment • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure cohesive care delivery Qualifications • Relevant qualification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant or equivalent recognised training programme • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken • Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation • Experience or interest in teaching or guiding patients through therapeutic exercises is advantageous • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team • Compassionate approach with excellent organisational skills • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to healthcare regulations
