Occupational Therapist - SEN/SEMH Schools Trust, Basingstoke Basingstoke, Hampshire September start - Full-time Salary - Competitive, dependent on experience Academics are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a successful team, supporting a trust of SEN/SEMH schools across Basingstoke. This is an exciting opportunity to work with primary and secondary-aged pupils who have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). As part of a multidisciplinary approach, you will play a vital role in helping children and young people develop the skills they need to thrive in school, at home, and within their communities. The suitable Occupational Therapist will be working across a number of schools within the trust, you will: * Assess pupils' sensory processing, motor skills, functional abilities and participation in school activities. * Develop and implement individualised intervention programmes. * Support children with autism, SEMH needs and complex behavioural presentations. * Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external professionals. * Provide practical strategies and training to school staff to support pupils in the classroom. * Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), reports and annual reviews where appropriate. * Promote inclusive practice and enable pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful Occupational Therapist will be someone who is: * HCPC-registered as an Occupational Therapist. * Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. * Experienced in paediatrics, education or working with children with autism, SEMH and/or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential). * Confident working independently while also enjoying being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. * An excellent communicator with strong assessment and report-writing skills. * Flexible, organised and committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
