About the Role We are seeking an experienced and passionate Ofsted Registered Manager to lead the opening and ongoing development of a new 3-bed Children's Residential Home in Ilford, providing high-quality care and support for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new service from the ground up, creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive and achieve positive outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving and maintaining an Ofsted rating of "Good" or "Outstanding." Key Responsibilities • Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager for the home. • Lead the successful opening and day-to-day management of the home in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. • Develop and maintain a child-centred, therapeutic culture focused on achieving the best outcomes for young people. • Recruit, develop, supervise, and inspire a high-performing residential care team. • Ensure safeguarding remains at the heart of all practice. • Oversee care planning, risk management, and behaviour support strategies. • Monitor quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement. • Manage budgets effectively while ensuring high standards of care. • Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, Ofsted, education providers, families, and other professionals. • Ensure all statutory requirements, policies, and procedures are consistently met. About YouYou will be a dedicated leader with a genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people. Essential Requirements • Previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager or a Deputy Manager ready to step into registration. • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards completion where permitted). • Thorough knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation. • Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). • Proven leadership and people management skills. • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities. Desirable • Experience opening a new children's residential home. • Track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspections. • Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed care models.
