Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Factory Operative to join an established manufacturing business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and can contribute effectively within a production environment. Full training will be provided. Key Responsibilities: • Sanding, rubbing, and masking painted products and components • Preparing stencils and jigs for production activities • Applying markings and identification details to products • Using a variety of hand tools safely and effectively • Following quality standards, procedures, and work instructions • Maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements • Carrying out general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organised workplace • Reporting maintenance, safety, or quality concerns where appropriate • Assisting with general factory and production tasks as required • Completing work to agreed production schedules and targets • Communicating effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments Beneficial Skills / Qualifications: • Reliable and dependable approach to work • Good attention to detail • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Positive and proactive attitude • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual duties • Flexible approach with a willingness to support different areas of the factory • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment • Experience using hand tools • Understanding of continuous improvement principles • Experience working to productivity and quality targets Additional Details: • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays • Quarterly profit share scheme • Two paid breaks per shift • Days only – Mon – Fri (every other Friday off) • On-site canteen facilities • Death in service benefit • Healthcare scheme and employee assistance programme • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay • Company pension scheme • Free on-site parking
