Part-Time Optical Assistant Independent Opticians, Leicester (Leicestershire) £12.71/hr | 2 Days Per Week | Tuesday + 1 Flexible Midweek Day | 9am-5.30pm Zest Optical are working alongside a growing independent Opticians in Leicester to recruit a Part-Time Optical Assistant. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, community-focused team, working across two practices just four miles apart, both committed to providing personalised, high-quality eye care. This role is for 2 days per week, with Tuesday being a fixed working day and one additional midweek day to be agreed. There will also be the opportunity to pick up additional holiday cover if desired. Optical Assistant - Role Overview • Working across two well-established independent practices in Leicester, just four miles apart • Part-time, 2 days per week • Tuesday plus one additional midweek day • Additional holiday cover available • Hours: 9.00am-5.30pm • Welcoming patients and providing a first-class customer experience • Supporting the Optometrists and wider team with the day-to-day running of the practices • Advising patients on suitable frames and lenses • Handling contact lens enquiries and orders • Assisting with remote edging and working with Essilor lenses • Helping maintain the presentation of a carefully selected range of designer and everyday eyewear • Hourly rate - £12.71 - Chance to inrease in the future Optical Assistant - Requirements • Previous experience working as an Optical Assistant is essential • Confident dispensing spectacles and providing excellent patient care • Comfortable working across two practices • Strong communication and customer service skills • Passion for community-focused care and building long-term patient relationships • Professional, approachable and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Optical Assistant looking for a part-time role with set weekday hours, flexibility to pick up extra shifts if wanted, and the chance to work within a friendly independent business where patient care comes first.
