Job description

Part Time Finance Officer 20-25hpw, Term Time + 4 weeks, £38500 pro rata, Guildford This is a permanent part-time office-based job working 20-25 hours a week over 4 or 5 days in Guildford during term time + 4 weeks (a total of 43 weeks a year). The actual salary is £25583. We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accountant to join the Finance Team and take responsibility for systems, data integrity and process improvement, ensuring strong controls that will support effective financial management and decision-making across the organisation. In the role you will : • Lead the administration, development and improvement of finance, purchasing and budgeting systems. • Provide expert support, guidance and training to colleagues on finance systems and processes. • Help maintain robust financial controls, compliance and data quality. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancements. • Support financial reporting, analysis, and month-end and year-end activities. • Work closely with budget holders and colleagues to deliver a high-quality finance service. The ideal candidate will have: • Experience working in a finance, systems or data-focused environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. • The ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users. • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Benefits include on-site parking, 20% remote working if required and an excellent pension (contribution up to 18%). The successful candidate will need to pass an enhanced DBS check and an occupational health check. As this role is office based, candidates will need to live within a reasonable commute of Guildford, the office is just out of town and easily accessible from the A3.
