Flexible SEN Support OpportunitiesWe are currently recruiting Part-Time and Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to support a new specialist educational provision opening in Barnsley from September.
The provision supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), communication and interaction needs, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), sensory needs, and associated learning difficulties.
This role is ideal for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Care Workers, Support Workers, or those with relevant experience looking for flexible employment within a rewarding educational setting.
Duties
• Provide 1:1 and small group support.
• Assist pupils with learning and classroom engagement.
• Support communication, social skills and emotional wellbeing.
• Promote positive behaviour and independence.
• Adapt to different classrooms and support needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Requirements
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Ideally experience in a specialist SEND school or provision.
• Understanding of autism and complex needs.
• Positive, patient and resilient attitude.
• Flexible and reliable approach to work.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
